universalmonstersblog: Fact 80: There is no musical soundtrack in Dracula 1931 (except for the opening song) because since sound was a new invention in movies, it was believed that the audience would not accept music in a scene without any explanation of why it was there. I think the silence and slight hiss on the soundtrack adds to the atmosphere.
